Flamingo Beach Costa Rica is a fine and stunning white sand beach, with pristine clear blue waters, lagoons, abundant mangroves, very rich in vegetation and natural beauty. Flamingo Beach is considered as one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. Due to its location at Salinas Point, Flamingo offers a stunning view of both the Potrero and Brasilito Bays, making it the ideal vacation getaway.

Interestingly enough, the original name of Flamingo beach was “Playa Blanca”; it changed its name in the 1950s to coincide with the construction of the area’s first major hotel, the Flamingo Beach Resort, but in case you’re wondering, the are no flamingos in Costa Rica!

Flamingo Beach offers visitors some of the best deep sea fishing in the world, as marlin, swordfish, mahi mahi, sail-fish, rooster fish, snapper and tuna can be found off the coast all year around. This is why every July, Flamingo beach also hosts the fantastic international sailfish tournament sponsored by the Costa Rican Amateur Fishermen’s Club. Besides deep sea fishing, Flamingo Beach also offers a wide variety of water sports, such as Scuba diving, allowing tourists to experience the excitement of swimming with whitetip sharks and an array of other exotic tropical fish and marine life. Sailing, diving expeditions and tours can also be arranged to the close Plata island or just a sunset cruise. Flamingo Beach also offers an abundance of land-based activities such as ATV, horseback riding, hiking, canopy tours, as well as nature and educational activities, virtue of its proximity to Santa Rosa and Palo Verde National Parks.

The Flamingo Beach Marina once was the only safe haven between Acapulco and Panama City. Now, this region is home to some of the most beautiful hotels, condos and private residences that Costa Rica has to offer.
