Coco Beach Guanacaste Costa Rica (Playas del Coco in Spanish) is a beautiful gray sanded beach with calm waters and a distinctly blue-gray color instead of the usual blue-green which is characteristic of the Papagayo beaches, surrounded by hills and cliffs that extend over 3km to the Centinela point. Coco Beach is located in the province of Guanacaste, it has been ranked as one of the top destinations in Costa Rica and its one of the best known beaches in the country.
Coco Beach is very popular for both, locals and foreigners, as it has easy access and a well developed infrastructure with a wide variety of facilities for tourists such as restaurants, bars, discos, casinos, luxury hotels and lodges for all budgets, markets and shops. In addition, Coco Beach is well known as a gateway for surfers to reach Ollie’s Point and Witch’s Rock (Roca Bruja), where the waves are great.
Coco Beach Guanacaste Costa Rica is ideal to relax for a day in a boat or do a little fishing, as well as it is a main point for snorkeling or diving, as from Coco Beach you can head to the Pelonas or the Catalinas Islands which are excellent sites for observing a variety of tropical fish, turtles, sharks and octopuses in their natural environment. Also, thanks to its location, Coco Beach is located relatively close to several national parks, where you can visit volcanoes, take a tour of the history of Costa Rica, or observe flora and fauna, for example the opportunity to see the famous arrivals of Leatherback and Hawksbill turtles laying eggs on the coast.
